These Terms of Service govern your use of InkLoop, a K–12 AI grading and diagnostic platform operated by InkLoop ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using InkLoop, you agree to these terms. If you are using InkLoop on behalf of a school or district, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
1. Who May Use InkLoop
- Teachers and tutoring center staff may use InkLoop to grade student worksheets, generate practice materials, and view student skill data for students in their assigned classrooms.
- School principals and administrators may use InkLoop to view school-wide skill data and provision user accounts for their staff.
- Parents and guardians may use InkLoop to view the skill records of their linked children. Linking is managed by the school or by InkLoop staff.
- Students do not create accounts or directly access InkLoop. Student records are managed by their teachers and parents on their behalf.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use InkLoop only for its intended educational purposes. You may not:
- Upload worksheets or content belonging to students not in your assigned classrooms or not linked to your parent account.
- Attempt to access data belonging to other schools, teachers, or students.
- Use InkLoop to generate, store, or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, or unrelated to K–12 education.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute InkLoop's question bank, generated worksheets, or AI outputs for commercial purposes outside of normal educational use.
- Share your login credentials with others. Each user must have their own account.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or access InkLoop's systems in ways not permitted by these terms.
3. Student Data
Student education records created or stored in InkLoop remain the property of the student and their family under FERPA. InkLoop processes this data on behalf of the school or parent as a service provider. Our handling of student data is described in detail in our Privacy Policy.
4. Intellectual Property
- InkLoop owns all AI-generated worksheet content, question bank data, and platform software.
- Worksheets you generate through InkLoop may be used freely for educational purposes within your school or household. They may not be resold or distributed commercially.
- Questions digitized from paper worksheets you upload (external questions) remain your school's content. InkLoop stores anonymized metadata about question performance to improve the platform.
- Feedback, suggestions, or feature requests you submit may be incorporated into InkLoop without obligation or compensation.
5. Pricing and Payments
- Teacher / classroom plan: $10 per classroom per month, billed month-to-month. No annual commitment required. A teacher may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period.
- School / district contracts: Governed by a separate written agreement. Pricing, term length, and cancellation conditions are specified in that agreement.
- Parent premium (B2C): $20 per student per month, billed through Wix Payments. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing month.
- All prices are in USD. InkLoop reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers. Price changes do not affect active school contracts during their agreed term.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@inkloopapp.com within 7 days of a charge if you believe an error occurred.
6. Service Availability
InkLoop is provided on an "as available" basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for downtime caused by:
- Scheduled maintenance (announced in advance when possible).
- Third-party service outages (Google Cloud, Supabase, Vercel).
- Events outside our reasonable control.
7. AI Grading — No Warranty of Accuracy
InkLoop uses AI to grade student worksheets. AI grading is designed to assist teachers, not replace their judgment. All AI results are subject to teacher review (Human-in-the-Loop) before being saved. InkLoop makes no warranty that AI-generated grades or skill assessments are free from error. Teachers are responsible for reviewing and approving all graded results before they are committed to student records.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, InkLoop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to lost data, lost revenue, or decisions made based on AI-generated skill assessments. InkLoop's total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 3 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using InkLoop and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. Upon termination, your data remains accessible for 30 days and is then deleted unless a school contract or applicable law requires longer retention.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and notify active users by email. Continued use of InkLoop after the updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance.
